To invite guests, all you have to do is click “Share Link” from your venue and include this link in your calendar invitation and they can join through Google Chrome.
Guests do not need to login to use Rally - they just have to login with their name and they’re good to go!
Rally has the best experience on Google Chrome on your laptop or desktop (we’re not mobile friendly yet!). Remember to share the one-pager with your guests before the event!
The venue is the main landing page where all guests first enter. From the venue, you can choose which room you want to go into. Inside each room, you can join and start different tables.
There are two types of users on Rally:
Hosts (if you’re the account owner of the venue then you are the main host) can edit the venue name, description and room names and descriptions as well as open and close the rooms.
Inside each room, only hosts have the ability to “Go on Stage” to make an announcement to the room, broadcast a message across venues, shuffle guests around in the room, and make others hosts as well.
As a guest, you can join any table you want to join in on the conversation, start a new table with someone, and move between different rooms.
You can read up on our security and privacy terms here.
And couple things to note:
- All video calls are encrypted, and we do not record or store any videos on our servers.
- Each venue link is unique and is impossible to guess (no zoom bombing!)
- If you are using Rally with a team, ask us about configuring Single Sign-On (SSO).
Here are a few things you can do to minimize network/connectivity issues:
There are a couple reasons why the camera is blocked:
We recommend closing any other applications that uses your camera (Zoom, Hangouts or another Rally tab) and opening up Rally again. If that still doesn’t work, please close Chrome completely and re-open the application.
Of course! You can always contact us at hello@rally.video
When you first enter a room, you'll be at a table by yourself until you join another table by clicking "Join" where a group of others are sitting.
Clicking Join will allow you to join a table. If you see a lock symbol, it means they locked their table for a private conversation.
Our recommendation is to have at least 3 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download speeds.
However, note that because Rally is built on WebRTC, upload/download speeds are not the sole determining factor of call quality. Packet loss is also important to minimize. The easiest thing you can do to minimize packet loss is to make sure you are close to your wifi router. Also, as a general rule, the newer your device is, the better you'll find the quality of the video and audio to be. Computers that are over 5 years old tend to have difficulty achieving the same performance as newer devices.
